Mud Press is an independent publishing house hanging its hat in Nottingham, UNESCO City of Literature.
At Mud, we present exclusively poetry, celebrate illustration, and thrive on collaboration. We aim to challenge the perception of poetry as a ‘boring’ and purely academic art form by celebrating the work of a vivacious variety of poets, spoken word artists, lyrical waxers, and, in general, those possessing special powers of imagination and or expression.
We’re about building a community of artists, promoting their events and skills, creating a tribe.
Our anthologies are beautiful objects. Objects with words and designs that make you want to ‘rub yer face’ on the front covers, sniff the pages, stroke the spines, and this is thanks to the incredible illustrators and graphic designers we strive to work alongside as much as we do our poets.
Here, this website is a creative hub, a networking pool, a rebellion against the notion that ‘poetry is dead,’ and, alongside our books, a physical representation of the spirit of collaboration that made all of this happen.
